The prolonged lockdown in schools and the kids staying off from school have impaired their learning. A recent survey has suggested to look beyond grades for them as relearning is needed

Amidst all this the same study also states that in world India is the country with longest school closure. Within India West Bengal has the dubious distinction of having longest school closure.

The brilliant idea of State Government to start primary and pre primary classes in open spaces had some very different outcomes.

Once again it goes to show that schools should be left to operate as they were in indoors but on alternate days for avoiding crowd.

Some heartening news for preschools. As per NEP 2020 the first 5 years of elementary education has to be in Angadwadi/balvatika/Montessori schools.

Now Vedanta Group in collaboration with Bill and Melinda Gates foundation are taking up upgradation of 500 Angadwadi centres of UP. These will be modelled like Nand Ghars (pre primary school of Vedanta Group).

This goes to show that corporates are entering into preschool making it an organized sector with bigger markets and better recognition.

Ground realities of High School and online classes.

It is observed that kids entering directly into high school on an online class platform are finding it very difficult to identify with their school, teachers and peer group even after six months.

Some of the high schools have already decided to repeat the classes of junior sections like Nursery, LKG and SKG in the coming academic session to make the tiny tots feel at home first in the new school and then repeat the studies. But this is a waste of time and money for the parents.
