Implementation of Third Language (R3) under NCFSE 2023

In alignment with NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023, R3 (Third Language) shall be introduced starting with class IX in the Academic Session 2026–27.

The initiative aims to strengthen multilingual learning and ensure that every learner studies at least two native Indian languages, in line with the aim of promoting India’s rich linguistic diversity.

Key highlights include:
* Phased implementation
* Structured R1, R2 and R3 framework
* Internal school-based assessment for R3
* No separate Board Examination for R3 at Class X level
* Special provisions for CwSN, foreign/transient students and CBSE Schools abroad

📢 NDA II 2026 Applications Open

Students aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces through the National Defence Academy (NDA) can now apply for NDA II 2026 through the UPSC website.

🗓 Last Date to Apply: 09 June 2026
⏰ Time: Up to 6:00 PM

✅ Eligible students currently studying in or completing Class 12 can apply.

✨ NDA offers entry into:

* Indian Army
* Indian Navy
* Indian Air Force

Students interested in defence careers are advised to complete the application process well before the deadline.

CBSE has extended the last date for obtaining scanned photocopies of Class XII answer books to 24.05.2026

Students will also get up to two days after receiving the scanned copy to apply for Verification/Re-evaluation.

The portal for applying for scanned copies of Class XII answer books is now fully functional.

We thank students, parents, and schools for their patience and cooperation.

The online application portal for obtaining scanned copies of Class XII answer books is now functioning smoothly, and applications are being submitted successfully.

1,27,146 applications for obtaining 3,87,399 scanned answer books were submitted successfully by 7:30 pm on 20.05.26, that is, within 3 hours of the portal being opened.
