Nothing to take personally. It's an observation drawn from 18–20 years of teaching experience as a private tutor also, during which I've worked with students from diverse social and economic backgrounds and witnessed a wide range of parenting approaches very closely. This reflection comes from those experiences.
This is a pattern I have observed consistently.

There may be adverse effects of AI when it is used irresponsibly by unqualified or ill-intentioned people within the education system.

This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education has predominantly modified the syllabus and textbooks for Classes VIII and IX. Has anyone actually gone through the new Mathematics books properly.

Everything feels vague and unstructured. In many chapters, different types of sums are randomly mixed together without maintaining the natural flow of the syllabus, as if the content has been arranged blindly through AI without proper academic planning.

The most absurd part is that many exercises do not even provide answer keys, making it difficult for both students and teachers to verify solutions confidently.

An education system guided without proper educational vision cannot produce meaningful results.

Nowadays, governments appear to be more focused on history and political narratives than on Mathematics, Science, or other future-relevant subjects.

Since the post-COVID period, Central Board of Secondary Education has repeatedly reduced and altered syllabi in the name of “updates,” but in reality many important concept-building portions are gradually disappearing.

Just one example:
Without properly learning the process of solving linear equations in two variables, how can students realistically solve problems involving two unknowns with confidence and understanding? In many places, the syllabus now feels disconnected — with “no head and no tail.”
There are countless examples that reflect this academic inconsistency.

The consequences of such negligence are visible everywhere incidents like the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak controversy, inconsistent board evaluation systems, and many other failures clearly expose the condition of the education system.

Though my knowledge may be limited, one thing feels certain:

regardless of which government comes to power, very few people seem genuinely serious or sincere about improving education. A handful of exceptionally brilliant students will still reach IITs, IIMs, or medical colleges, but the majority are left struggling without proper guidance or concern.

That is the harsh reality of our country.

This is my student, Gaurav, an ISC candidate of 2026.This picture is from last year during our tuition classes.

With 16–17 years of teaching experience, I have observed a massive change in students’ psychology over the last 8–9 years. And really I accept these changes without any judgment, as every generation eventually adapts to social changes.

However, I must also admit that nowadays the bond between students and teachers both in terms of respect and friendship has become almost obsolete. The reason is not only the changing mindset of the new generation, but also the shift in teachers’ mentality, along with the increasing influence of a marketing-driven and business-oriented education system.

In spite of all these, GAURAV is one of those rare students with whom I feel a genuine internal connection. This is not out of bias he has truly earned this place. And he has earned it not just through academics, but through his behavior, manners, thoughts, and those intangible qualities that define a good human being qualities that are becoming increasingly rare in both students and teachers today.
When I visited his home, I realized that this goodness is not accidental. It comes from his family. Everyone in his household, his parents, grandparents, even the household staff are consistently well-mannered, respectful, and genuinely kind, without any pretence.

Although he studies in a renowned school in Kolkata and has achieved excellent results in his board exams, these achievements are still secondary to his all values of humanity. I have taught many high-scoring students from reputed schools, but I have rarely come across someone like Gaurav someone who possesses such strong moral values and a truly good heart.

May God bless him with all the happiness and success he truly deserves in life. This is all I can wish for him. I am really blessed to have him as my student for the past few years.🙏
