Last night Jadavpur University was attacked by ABVP-goons. The goons entered the university campus, vandalized university property, set fire to the flags of left students' organisations, and destroyed boards carrying democratic demands.

In protest against this, the West Bengal State Committee of AIDSO called for a statewide Condemnation Day today.

At noon, activists of AIDSO along with other left student organisations, professors, non-teaching staff, and representatives of civil society gathered at Jadavpur University to protest this attack. ABVP members showed up again to launch another attack. At that time, the students put up resistance, wearing pictures of Netaji, Pritilata, Khudiram, Bhagat Singh and other revolutionaries on their chests.

Recent floods in Assam badly hit the Sivasagar district. In the villages of Nepali Khuti, Prajabasti, and Santak, most homes were completely destroyed. Around 100 people lost their lives.
While the government promised help but did nothing, AIDSO stepped in to support the villagers. Initially AIDSO activists distributed food materials and now volunteers spent five days rebuilding damaged houses and cleaning up local schools.

A protesting youth and his family were attacked in Indas, Bankura district, West Bengal, while demanding renovation of the primary school. It is alleged that the youth’s father died in an attack by BJP miscreants. This youth had participated in the youth uprising in Delhi last month.

In protest against this incident and demanding stringent punishment for the accused, a protest program was observed across the state yesterday on the call of the AIDSO West Bengal State Committee. A delegation from the Bankura district organization, including Jeet Chattaraj, member of the AIDSO West Bengal State Committee, also visited the home of the attacked protesting youth in Indas and stood beside the family.
