We are proud to announce that a paper co-authored by Narayan Changder, an Assistant Professor in Institute for Advancing Intelligence, TCG CREST has been has been accepted for presentation at IJCAI 2024, the 33rd International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. This conference is one of the most recognized global conferences in AI with a CORE ranking of A*.
The paper titled 'Faster Optimal Coalition Structure Generation via Offline Coalition Selection and Graph-Based Search' authored by Redha Taguelmimt, Samir Aknine, Djamila Boukredera, Narayan Changder, and Tuomas Sandholm deals with algorithms for coalition structure generation.

TCG CREST is partnering with Blockchain for Impact (BFI) through the BFI-Biome Virtual Network Programme!
At TCG CREST, our biomedical research centres—Cancer-related Advanced Research and Education (CARE) and Centre for High Impact Neuroscience and Translational Applications (CHINTA)—are committed to addressing the complex healthcare challenges that hinder societal advancement. Under this agreement, BFI will allocate more than $3,60,000 over the course of 3 years to support collaborative translational research projects that leverage the domain expertise of our centres to push the frontiers of biomedical science and innovation.
The partnership marks a crucial step towards advancing transformative healthcare solutions. By bringing together the diverse expertise within the biomedical field, we can surely facilitate equitable and accessible healthcare for all.

An inaugural symposium to celebrate the establishment of TCG CREST’s Centre for High Impact Neuroscience and Translational Applications (CHINTA) in Kolkata was held from 18th to 20th January 2024.
The symposium convened 261 attendees, comprising students, researchers, and experts, fostering a vibrant community of neuroscience enthusiasts. Sixty-one individuals showcased their research, while 18 national and international experts delivered insightful discussions on various neuroscientific topics. Notable attendees included Dr. Joshua Gordon, Director, National Institute of Mental Health; Dr. Vatsala Thirumalai, Associate Professor, National Centre for Biological Sciences; and Dr. Mriganka Sur, Director, Simons Center for the Social Brain, MIT.
The establishment of CHINTA represents a pivotal advancement in addressing the rising burden of brain disorders, including stroke and mental health issues, in our country. By harnessing India's strengths across physical, computational, engineering, and biomedical sciences, CHINTA is poised to tackle these pressing challenges by pioneering research and translational applications.

KPIT signs an MOU and Research Agreement with RISE (TCG-CREST) on further development of its indigenous Na-ion Battery Technology

KPIT Pune recently signed a Research Agreement with RISE (TCG-CREST) to further develop and enhance its current Na ion battery technology. KPIT has been pursuing several sustainability development goals (SDGs) for quite some time through its R & D wing. In one of the firsts, over the past 7 years KPIT in joint collaboration with IISER Pune (group of Prof. Satishchandra Ogale, who is currently the Director of RISE) has already developed a mature indigenous pouch cell based Na-ion battery technology. The aim of the current project is to enhance it further to encompass multiple application domains.

Professor Souvik Bhattacharyya, Principal Academic Advisor of TCG CREST has been inducted as a member of the Academy of Distinguished Graduates of the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas A&M University, USA.

The Academy of Distinguished Graduates recognizes the extraordinary impact and significant professional accomplishments in industry, government, or academia of its outstanding former students. It also involves these leaders of industry, government, and academia in the department as role models for their current students. There are currently 55 members, representing less than 1% of their living former students.
Professor Bhattacharyya has been invited to participate in the Texas A&M’s fall scholarship banquet on the evening of Thursday, October 19, 2023, where the University will induct him in the Academy and will honour him as a distinguished member of their “extended family” that has carried on the tradition of “having an impact, making a difference.”

Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), an ‘Institute of National Importance’ (INI) of Government of India has recognized TCG CREST as its Associate Academic Centre enabling PhD programs of TCG CREST to get affiliated to AcSIR.
Building upon mutual strengths, AcSIR, AcSIR-affiliated Institutes and TCG CREST will establish academic connectivity, synergy and cross-pollination of academic programs to build capacity in identified areas of research and development. This will also allow TCG CREST to get more insight into industry’s requirements, thereby facilitating industry-academia collaborations and initiatives to fulfil CREST’s objective of conducting translational research in science and technology for societal benefits.
