We get worried when our phone or laptop memory gets full. But do you know the actual capacity of the 'supercomputer' inside your head? 🤯
According to scientists, the storage capacity of the human brain is approximately 2.5 Petabytes, which is about 2.5 million GB! In simple terms—if high-definition (HD) video were recorded in your brain continuously for 300 years, only then would its memory become full. 💻🧠
So, why do we forget? 🤔
Actually, forgetting is not a weakness; it is a special power of the brain. Our brain periodically removes unnecessary information (known in scientific terms as Active Forgetting) so that it can make space to remember new and important things.
