Dalmut Recipe Guide

Facebook description dalmut recipe
A dalmut is a type of vegetarian dish that is popular in India. It is made using lentils, spices, and vegetables, and is typically served with rice or bread. Here is a simple recipe for making dalmut:
Ingredients:
1 cup yellow split peas (moong dal)
1 large onion, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, grated
1 green chili, chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp ghee or oil
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Rinse and drain the split peas, then place them in a large saucepan with 2 cups of water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan. Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the split peas are tender and soft.
Meanwhile, heat the ghee or oil in a separate pan and add the cumin seeds. Cook until they start to crackle.
Add the onion, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and green chili to the pan and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
Stir in the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt, then cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Once the split peas are cooked, add the onion mixture to the saucepan and stir well.
Cook for another 5-10 minutes, or until the flavors have combined and the mixture has thickened slightly.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves, and enjoy with rice or bread.
Note: You can adjust the consistency of the dalmut to your liking by adding more water or cooking it for a longer period of time. Additionally, you can customize the spices and seasonings to suit your personal taste preferences.
