"Devi in the Mirror of Time"
Young Horizons School proudly celebrated a special Durga Puja assembly honoring the Nine Forms of Maa Durga and their reflection in today’s world. Each form—Shailaputri, Chandraghanta, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kushmanda, Siddhidatri, Mahagauri, and beyond—reminds us of timeless strength, compassion, wisdom, and resilience that continue to guide us in modern life.
Through this celebration, students paid tribute to the eternal power of the Devi, inspiring all to embrace courage, balance, and grace in every sphere of life.
Truly, the mirror of time reflects Maa Durga’s presence in every age.

Celebrating Teachers’ Day at Young Horizons School was nothing short of magical!
Our Senior Section put up a vibrant programme on 20th September 2025, filled with heartfelt tributes, soulful songs, lively dances, and laughter-packed skits. From retro to modern beats, every performance carried the spirit of gratitude and joy.
The highlights? A graceful mix of Class VII–XII dances, a nostalgic Bollywood skit by Class X, and a witty Council skit. The tributes by Class IX and XII touched every teacher’s heart, while the S.A.M.A. Show added a special flavour of creativity with their 'guess who and what?' games.
Every act reflected the love and respect students hold for their mentors.

Promoting Spinal Health:
A Session on Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
On 19th August, Young Horizons School hosted an awareness and screening session on Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) for girl students of Classes IX–XII under the able guidance of Dr. Soumyajit Basu a renowned spine specialist of Kolkata, along with his team of doctors and nurses.
Dr. Basu explained that the spine should normally be straight. In scoliosis, however, the curvature tilts, often leading to one shoulder or side of the pelvis being slightly higher. During the non-invasive screening, students were carefully examined for such early signs.
The students also learned that early detection is the key to successful treatment. They came to know that scoliosis may be of different types such as idiopathic, neuromuscular, or congenital.
A common misconception, that carrying school bags causes scoliosis or affects the spine was also clarified. Dr. Basu encouraged students to engage in outdoor games and other gorms of physical activities like walking and climbing stairs.
The interactive session empowered our students with practical tips for posture correction and spinal health—making them more aware, confident, and proactive about their well-being.
We thank Dr. Basu and his team for this meaningful initiative!
