Enriching Learning at the 3rd Edition Seminar on Biotech & Pharmaceuticals

Ms. Falah Ismail, Assistant Professor and Mr. Ranjit Bhowmick, Academic Instructor, along with research scholar Sreetama Guha, from the department of Nutrition, Sister Nivedita University participated in the 3rd Edition Seminar on Biotech and Pharmaceuticals, organised by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) today at Williamson Magor Hall, The Royal Exchange, Kolkata. The seminar, centred around the future of the Indian Pharma and Biotech Industry, was highly informative, insightful, and engaging. The diverse sessions covering Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology, AI-driven research and development, pharmaceutical regulations and compliance, ethical and security challenges, digital transformation, and innovation in Pharma & Biotech start-ups provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving industry landscape.

Each session enriched our understanding and highlighted the immense potential of AI and emerging technologies in transforming the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

We sincerely thank The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organising such an insightful and thought-provoking seminar and for providing an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and industry-academia interaction.

🍽️ THERAPEUTIC DIET PRACTICAL | MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY | SEMESTER V

Turning therapeutic nutrition into delicious, patient-specific meals! 👩‍⚕️🥗

As part of their Medical Nutrition Therapy practical, Semester V students explored how therapeutic diets can be carefully planned according to a patient’s medical condition, nutritional requirements, food restrictions, and texture needs—without compromising on taste and presentation.

✨ The students prepared:

🔹 Hypertension & Gastric Ulcer
🥣 Sabudana Khichdi

🔹 Severe Hypertension & Dental Problems
🍗 Shredded Chicken & Vegetable Stew
🍚 Soft Rice
🥬 Lemon-Garlic Spinach

🔹 Mild Hypertension, Celiac Disease & Gluten Intolerance
🍚 Roasted Garlic Rice
🍗 Baked Lemon-Herb Chicken
🥕 Sautéed Vegetables
🥗 Green Salad

Each meal was planned with nutrition, texture, palatability, and therapeutic requirements in mind, giving students hands-on experience in translating dietary prescriptions into practical, appealing meals.

💡 Because foods prescribed by a dietitian are not always boring—they can be nutritious, therapeutic AND delicious! ❤️

🌸 Learning Beyond the Classroom | World Breastfeeding Week 2026 🌸

The students of the Department of Nutrition, Sister Nivedita University - Nutrition had the opportunity to visit ICH as part of the World Breastfeeding Week celebration and their Pediatric Nutrition practical curriculum.

The visit offered our students a valuable opportunity to bridge classroom learning with real-world practice, deepen their understanding of breastfeeding, infant nutrition, and maternal–child health, and appreciate the role of nutrition professionals in promoting optimal early-life nutrition.

A meaningful day of observation, interaction, and learning—reminding us that some of the most important lessons in nutrition begin not in textbooks, but in the lives of the people we serve. 💙
