Zehra education Center was founded in 1993 as an Islamic Girls’ School by Mr and Mrs Moulana Athar Abbas Rizvi.They had a vision that each Shia girl should have a strong knowledge about their religion and belief. ZEC has grown over the years to become a large and very popular islamic school in Kolkata. It has worked in different centres educating more than thousands of girls till now from a wide r

ange of backgrounds. We, at ZEC, provide a personalised curriculum supported through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities(Mehndi, Painting, Tailoring,and handicrafts making) that allows enrichment and character building. We believe our daughters to be the future ambassadors of Islam and mothers of the next generation. Iran and Iraq is taking necessary measures to prevent COVID-19 spread in the month of Moharram.

During the month of moharram, Muslims mark Ashura, a time of spiritual and historical mourning, commemorating the death of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson Hussein at the battle of Karbala in 680.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims from around the world travel to Iraq to attend commemoration ceremonies in Karbala.

Iraqi and Iranian authorities called on citizens to not attend this year's pilgrimage because of the pandemic. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei banned the usual celebrations, marches and indoor ceremonies.
