Revelio'25: A Fun-Filled Day of Creativity and Delights!
The English department of RKSMVV recently hosted Revelio'25, a fun fair that was all about creativity, food, and fun!
Students of Journalism and Mass Communication department has participated in the fun fair along with other departments. They showcased their skills by selling delicious handmade foods, drinks and other handicrafts at their stalls.
A Big Thank You to the English Department for organizing this wonderful event and giving a chance to participate.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with IQAC, successfully organized an extension lecture on “Turning Journeys into Ventures: The Entrepreneurial Art of Travel Journalism” by Sri Shibaji Paul on 29th April 2025 at Muktiprana Sabhagriha from 11:30 AM onwards.
Sri Shibaji Paul, popularly known as Explorer Shibaji, is a renowned travel and food vlogger who shared his journey of transforming his passion for travel into a thriving digital venture. His engaging talk offered students a fascinating insight into the world of travel journalism, content creation, and the entrepreneurial possibilities that lie within this field.
The session was highly informative and inspiring, especially for media students and aspiring content creators. Mr. Paul spoke about his experiences on the road, the art of storytelling through visuals, and how digital platforms can be effectively used to build a personal brand. He also emphasized the importance of consistency, authenticity, and adaptability in the ever-evolving media landscape.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, who appreciated the opportunity to interact with such a dynamic and successful creator. It was a memorable and enriching experience for all attendees.

On 27th April 2025,Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan has successfully organized a Cervical Cancer Vaccination Camp for all our female students!
The camp aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention and the importance of early vaccination.
We are proud to share that many students came forward and took a vital step towards safeguarding their health.
A big thank you to the medical team, the college health committee, and all the volunteers who made this initiative possible.
Let’s continue to spread awareness and encourage everyone to prioritize their health!

RKSMVV Girls' College, conducted the first part of the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony followed by the final Dress Rehearsal of the Annual Day Cultural Programme on 3rd April 2025 from 11.30 am onwards at Muktiprana Sabhagriha.
The prizes for Cultural Competitions and Sports were awarded to the winners by Pravrajika Pradiptaprana Mataji and Dr Soma Marik ( Associate Professor of History Department) .
Annual college day was celebrated on 4th April, 2025 from 4pm onwards at Muktiprana Sabhagriha.
13 students of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, from semesters 1st, 3rd & 6th were recognised for their outstanding achievements, winning several prizes for Srijani, sports & academic excellence.

ঠাকুর রামকৃষ্ণ দেব বলেছিলেন "থ্যাটারে লোকশিক্ষে হয়"। থিয়েটার বাংলার অন্যতম প্রধান জ্ঞাপন মাধ্যম হিসেবে পরিচিতি। আমরা দেখে এসেছি থিয়েটারে শম্ভু মিত্র থেকে শুরু করে অনির্বাণ ভট্টাচার্যের উত্থান। থিয়েটার তাঁদের আতুরঘর। আজ বিশ্ব নাট্য দিবসের শুভেচ্ছা জানাই সকলকে। থিয়েটার থাক যাপনে।

The Women Cell of Sammilani Mahavidyalaya under the aegis of IQAC
celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 through organizing inter-college competition on virtual mode and one day seminar in-person on 25th March 2025. RKSMVV students participated in different competition events which were - Story Writing, Recitation, Singing and Drawing.
The seminar was on "Empower her to empower the nation". It took place at Vidyasagar Hall ( auditorium of the college). The speakers were Dr. Rohini Dhramapal, an assistant professor at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan. She is also a renowned female priest. Dr. Turna Das, an assistant professor at Sister Nivedita University and also a well known theatre actress.
Sohag Guha of semester 6th, department of Journalism & Mass Communication secured 3rd place in the Recitation competition. Sumedha Chowdhury of semester 6th, department of Sociology secured 1st place in the Singing competition and Shreya Mukherjee of semester 6th, department of English secured 2nd position in Story Writing competition.

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and IQAC organized an Extension Lecture on 'Technical Aspects in Making Popular Hindi and Bengali Film' by Dr. Pallav Mukhopadhyay, Assistant Professor of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, West Bengal State University, Barasat, West Bengal, India, on 13 March 2025, 12pm onwards. We're grateful to have him with us. We learnt about type of camera shots, angle, frames and other technical aspects regarding popular Hindi and Bengali films. We're truly enriched and enlightened by his valuable talk, experience and expertise shared.

Six students from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication attended a beautiful and much relevant event on 'Cyber Security', organized by Akashvani on 12th February 2025 at Rathindra Mancho, Jorasanko. There were skit performances for the audience and a panel discussion round along with a quiz round.Students participated in the quiz contest and Prapti Sanyal of semester 6 from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication received a gift hamper and a certificate for her performance in quiz competition.

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication visited the International Kolkata Bookfair : A bookworms paradise, on 05.02 2025. The Kolkata Book Fair is a bibliophile's dream come true. With over 600 stalls representing publishers from all over the world. The fair features a range of events including quiz competition,book launches, author meet and so on.We spend hours to explore the stalls and some of us also collected some of those books. And eventually we ended this short trip with lots of good memories and experience.

College Excursion Trip to Taki
Department of JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION organized an excursion trip to Taki, on 31st January 2025 and we travelled by bus. The journey was filled with laughter, music, and camaraderie. We enjoyed the scenic views and spent quality time together.
At Taki, we explored the local sights, learned about its history, and immersed ourselves in the culture. The trip was an incredible bonding experience, and we created unforgettable memories.
