Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence – Holy Mission English Medium School
What began as a modest initiative in one small room with just two students has today grown into one of the most respected educational institutions in Kolkata. As Holy Mission English Medium School celebrates its 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee), it proudly reflects on a journey marked by dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to social empowerment.
Founded on 12th March, 2001 in New Alipore, Kolkata, the school was established by Late Supriyo Chowdhury and Suatapa Chowdhury with a powerful vision — to provide quality English-medium education to first-generation learners of the city.
The school’s inspiring journey began in a single room generously provided by Late Srimati Rakhal Rani Chowdhury, whose support laid the foundation for what would eventually grow into a thriving institution dedicated to education and social upliftment.
At a time when access to quality education remained a challenge for many children from marginalized backgrounds, the founders envisioned an institution that would open doors of opportunity and transform lives through learning.
Over the last 25 years, Holy Mission English Medium School has stayed true to that mission. The institution has helped innumerable students from marginalized sections of society gain confidence, knowledge, and the ability to pursue their dreams. Many students who were the first in their families to attend school have gone on to achieve academic and personal success.
Beyond academics, the school has played a significant role in the social and intellectual development of first-generation learners, nurturing values such as discipline, curiosity, compassion, and responsibility.
Today, what began in a single room has expanded into a vibrant educational campus with multiple buildings, reflecting the steady growth and trust the institution has earned over the years.
The school now proudly stands as a thriving educational family of 1200+ students, supported by 70+ dedicated teachers and 20+ non-teaching staff members, all working together to create a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
As Holy Mission English Medium School celebrates its Silver Jubilee, it honors the vision of its founders, the generosity of those who supported its early days, the dedication of its educators, the trust of parents, and the achievements of thousands of students who have been part of this remarkable journey.
