Hello world
We are proud to announce that our founder / owner of DNA Studio- Stage - Screen , an artiste committed to envisioning dance education in India through performance arts in western dance disciplines, Mr. Amit Shaw, is the cover star of Dance Boss Uk, ezine.
He’s the first Indian to be featured here.
It’s such a proud moment for us Indians and an honour to see his 29years of service in silence.
Mr. Shaw believes in working in silence and always letting the work and action speak for itself.
He loves to be in the shadows creating a spotlight for others. His dedication and commitment to his vision and art has been consistent and inspiring.
He got work offers from New York City from esteemed establishments and in Mumbai from Ram Gopal Verma to remain in Mumbai and join The Company. He was just 14 back in 1995, when he realised that there’s no scope in Calcutta in terms of training and education in dance in western dances.
He made a promise to bring in opportunities and create a space where people can learn from the experienced and seasoned teachers and live their passion.
He humbly refused these offers and big opportunities only to fulfill the void that remained in Kolkata. He’s all about giving. All his life and work revolves around uplifting the people, the students and the community. Nothing for himself.
Dance education is a big challenge here, and his interview is an eye opener for the dance community in India. Talking about the need of the hour and why the government of India must come for to support his vision.
Please visit the website and read the full interview.
Thank you danceboss.uk, Emily Sophie for the love, support, respect and kind appreciation.
May this Independence Day, we break the chains of rigid thoughts and take the arts forward and India in a new direction.
