Today, on the auspicious occasion of Rabindranath Jayanti, Apeejay School Park Street fondly reflects upon the special Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti celebration held yesterday, 8th May 2026, in honour of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and Bidrohi Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The programme paid heartfelt tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, whose timeless philosophy, literary brilliance, songs, and vision of humanity continue to inspire generations. Nazrul’s spirit of courage, equality, and patriotism beautifully complemented Tagore’s ideals, making the celebration a harmonious blend of creativity and cultural pride.

The event commenced with “He Nutan”, followed by soulful Rabindrasangeet, Nazrulgeeti, speeches, recitations, and graceful dance performances including “Barisho Dhara Majhe”, “Durgam Giri Kantar”, “Mayabono Biharini”, and “Jagorone”. Through these presentations, students showcased their talents while imbibing values such as discipline, teamwork, confidence, empathy, creativity, resilience, and respect for India’s rich cultural heritage.

The celebration served as a meaningful tribute to the everlasting legacy of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, inspiring young minds to uphold the ideals of humanity, harmony, and artistic excellence.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Acting Principal Rima Chaudhuri, who appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers, and organisers in making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
