একদিন গাধা বাঘকে বলল — "ঘাসের রং নীল। "
বাঘ উত্তর দিল — "না, ঘাসের রং সবুজ। "
কিছুক্ষনের মধ্যেই দু'জনের আলোচনা তুমুল তর্কে পরিণত হলে, তারা জঙ্গলের রাজা সিংহের কাছে বিচারের জন্য উপস্থিত হল।

রাজদরবারে সিংহের কাছে পৌঁছানোর আগেই গাধা ডাক ছাড়তে শুরু করে দিল — " মহারাজ, আপনিই বলুন ঘাসের রং নীল কি না?"
সিংহ উত্তর দিল -- " হ্যাঁ, ঘাসের রং নীল।"

গাধা তাড়াতাড়ি সিংহের কাছে পৌঁছালো এবং বলতে থাকল —" বাঘ আমার কথা মানছে না, তর্ক করছে এবং আমাকে বিরক্ত করছে। ওকে শাস্তি দিন।"
সিংহ তখন ঘোষণা করল --" বাঘকে ৫ বছরের জন্য মৌন থাকার শাস্তি দেওয়া হল।"
গাধা খুশিতে লাফাতে লাগল এবং বলতে বলতে চলে গেল — " ঘাসের রং নীল, ঘাসের রং নীল।"

বাঘ শাস্তি মেনে নিল, কিন্তু সিংহকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল —" মহারাজ, আপনি আমায় শাস্তি দিলেন কেন যখন ঘাসের রং সত্যিই সবুজ।"
সিংহ বলল —" ঠিক, ঘাসের রং সবুজ।"
বাঘ জিজ্ঞাসা করল —" তাহলে আপনি আমায় শাস্তি দিলেন কেন?"
সিংহ উত্তর দিল —" তোমাকে শাস্তি দেওয়ার সাথে ঘাসের রং সবুজ না নীল, সেই প্রশ্নের কোনো সম্পর্ক নেই। তোমাকে শাস্তি দিয়েছি কারণ তোমার মত সাহসী, বুদ্ধিমান প্রাণী একটা গাধার সাথে তর্ক করে সময় নষ্ট করেছ এবং এইরকম একটা বাজে কারণে আমার কাছে এসে আমার সময় নষ্ট করেছ।"
মুর্খের সাথে কখনো তর্কে যেওনা।

আজ বিশ্ব বই দিবস!!
এই বই দিবসের প্রথম ধারণাটি আসে স্পেনের লেখক ভিসেন্ত ক্লাভেল আন্দ্রস- এর নিকট হতে। ১৬১৬ সালের ২৩শে এপ্রিল স্পেনের আর একজন বিখ্যাত লেখক মিগেল দে থের্ভান্তেস (যার ভাবশিষ্য ছিলেন আন্দ্রস) মৃত্যু বরণ করেন। আন্দ্রেস তাঁর প্রিয় লেখকের সৃষ্টিকে স্মরণীয় করে রাখতেই ১৯২৩ সালের ২৩শে এপ্রিল থেকে স্পেনে বই দিবস পালন করেন। শেষ পর্যন্ত ১৯৯৫ সালে ইউনেস্কো এই দিনটিকে "বিশ্ব বই দিবস" হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দিলে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ ২৩শে এপ্রিল বিশ্ব বই দিবস হিসেবে পালিত হয়ে আসছে। যেহেতু দিনটি ইংরেজ উইলিয়াম শেক্সপিয়ার, পেরুভীয় ইনকা গার্তিলাসো দে লা ভেগা এবং স্পেনীয় মিগেল দে থের্ভান্তেস সহ আরো বিশিষ্ট লেখকের জন্ম বা মৃত্যুবার্ষিকীর দিন। এছাড়া যুক্তরাজ্য এবং আয়ারল্যান্ডে বিশ্ব বই দিবসটি পৃথকভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় মার্চ মাসে একটি দাতব্য অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে যা বার্ষিকভাবে প্রথম বৃহস্পতিবারে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এবং এই উপলক্ষে বিভিন্ন বইয়ের বিশেষ সংস্করণ প্রকাশ করা হয়।

1. Loss (উচ্চারণ লস): এটি একটি Noun যার শাব্দিক অর্থ হলো হারানো, ক্ষতি, লোকসান

যেমনঃ They're making a loss in business.

2. Lose (উচ্চারণ লুজ): lose হচ্ছে Loss এর verb। যার অর্থ হলো লোকসান হওয়া, ক্ষতি হওয়া ইত্যাদি।
