held from 28th to 30th December 2023, at the Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana.
* Professor Thallapally Manohar, the Local Secretary of the Eighty-Second Session, will be sending his circular regarding the arrangements at Warangal and the Delegate fee by end of the September.
* The last date for receipt of the Enrolment Application Form and membership fee remittance for initial member for the 82nd session is 31st October 2023.
* The last date for receipt of the renewal fee for entitlement to voting rights at the 82nd session is 30 November 2023.
* Papers received by 30th November 2023 will get precedence and be accommodated on the first two days of the session.

On behalf of the Department of History, Presidency University, Kolkata, I am very pleased to invite you all to the 8th Distinguished Lecture on Modern Indian History. This talk "Vivekananda: A New Vision", will be delivered by Professor Ruth Harris (Professor, All Souls' College, University of Oxford) on Wednesday, 1.02.2023, at 2 pm at the P. C. Mahalanobis Auditorium, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Professor Ruth Harris is a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls’ College and Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford. She has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for research in French History and the Wolfson History Prize for her work. In 2011, Professor Harris was elected a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), the UK's national academy for the humanities and the social sciences. She has published widely in the history of science and medicine, the history of gender and religion, and the history of politics and emotion.
