Maps can appear different across countries due to various factors, including:
Projection Methods: Different countries use different projection methods, such as the Mercator projection, which distorts relative sizes, making certain regions appear larger than they are.
Cultural Representations: The way maps are created and interpreted can reflect cultural beliefs and historical narratives, leading to variations in how different countries perceive their borders and relative sizes.
Customization by Platforms: Services like Google Maps customize their maps based on individual country beliefs and laws, which can lead to discrepancies in representation.
These factors contribute to the diverse representations of the world across different countries.

The demonstrators, who have no single leader, describe themselves as the voice of Nepal’s Gen Z who are angry over corruption, unemployment and inequality. In the weeks leading up to the violence, the social media hashtag began trending in Nepal on posts that appeared to show the lavish lifestyles enjoyed by children of the political elite in a country where most young people struggle to make a living. The outrage was rooted in social and economic problems that had been growing for years, with jobs the central issue.
De facto leaders of the protest movement met with military officials and said they backed a former chief justice of Nepal’s Supreme Court to lead an interim government. But the next steps in forming a government were unclear after days of unrest. The protests, led by teenagers and young adults, were the most widespread in Nepal since it became a democratic republic in 2008.

Earth’s internal heat shapes global landforms and environments through processes in the geosphere. This model shows some of the phenomena that result from plate tectonics and the rock cycle, including mountain building, volcanism, and the distribution of continents and oceans. These phenomena, ultimately driven by Earth’s internal heat, have far-reaching effects on other parts of the Earth system, including wind patterns and airborne particles in the atmosphere, and species ranges in the biosphere.

Changes in the locations of oceans and land masses influences the Earth system, including:
How sunlight is absorbed or reflected by the surface of the Earth, which in turn affects atmospheric and ocean circulations patterns. which in turn affects weather and climate. For example, water absorbs and re-radiates more heat than land, so the distribution of land masses and oceans is one factor that affects the total heat balance of the Earth, as well as how that heat is distributed.
Regional temperatures, which can be more extreme at the center of large continents, with higher and lower temperatures than in coastal regions. Coastal climates can be strongly influenced by the re-radiation of heat and moisture from the ocean, and experience more moderate temperatures throughout the seasons.
The extent of ice sheets, which can expand when continents are located near the poles.
Connections among ocean basins and the pattern of ocean currents, which transport heat and influence regional climate.
The location of mountain building, which occurs as tectonic plates collide. Mountains also influence atmospheric circulation patterns that shape regional climate (temperature and precipitation patterns). Changes in atmospheric circulation can also affect ocean circulation patterns. Mountain building can also influence rates of weathering and greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere.
The amount of volcanic activity, which can increase during times of faster plate motion.
Sea levels, as the size and depth of ocean basins slowly changes over millions of years.
Species ranges and how species interact, which can influence evolutionary processes and patterns of biodiversity.

Sea level rise refers to the average increase in the water level of the Earth’s oceans. Over the last century sea level has increased (and continues to rise) due to global warming caused by the human activities that have increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Forty percent of the world’s population lives in densely populated coastal regions. Thus, sea level rise has, and will continue to have, a major impact as it begins to displace coastal communities.

The Pacific Plate slides north-northwestward past the North American Plate along the San Andreas Transform Plate Boundary. The San Andreas Fault is responsible for most of the movement in western California, causing a sliver of the state to slide past the rest of the continent. In Mexico, a combinatiion of divergent and transform plate boundary motion is opening the Gulf of California, causing the Baja Peninsula to separate from the rest of Mexico.
