Choosing a degree is only the first step. The right decision should consider career opportunities, entrance exams, university eligibility, skills required and long-term growth.

In Part 2, I’ll break it down stream-wise:

šŸ”¹ Commerce + Maths — top courses, entrance exams & universities
šŸ”¹ Commerce without Maths — career-focused options & eligibility
šŸ”¹ Non-Medical / PCM — high-demand tech & engineering pathways
šŸ”¹ Medical / PCB — opportunities beyond just MBBS

And most importantly, I’ll cover which entrance exams to target and which universities to keep on your list.

šŸ’¬ Parents & students - What is the BIGGEST confusion you have right now?

Choosing the right course, entrance exam, or university? Tell me in the comments.

Choosing between two job offers? šŸ’¼
Don’t make your decision based on CTC alone.

A higher salary doesn’t always mean a better career move. Before saying YES to an offer, look at the complete picture:

šŸ”¹ 1. CTC & In-hand Salary
CTC is just one part of the equation. Compare your actual monthly in-hand salary, bonuses, variable pay, ESOPs, and other components.

šŸ”¹ 2. Role & Responsibilities
Which role aligns better with your career goals? Look beyond the job title and understand what you’ll actually be doing day-to-day.

šŸ”¹ 3. Learning & Growth Opportunities
Ask yourself:
• Will you learn new skills?
• Is there scope for promotions?
• Will this role make your profile stronger 2–3 years from now?

šŸ”¹ 4. Brand Value of the Company
A reputed company can add significant value to your CV and may open doors to better opportunities in the future.

šŸ”¹ 5. Manager & Team
Your manager can have a huge impact on your career. Consider their leadership style, the team structure, and the kind of exposure you’ll get.

šŸ”¹ 6. Work-Life Balance
Check working hours, weekend expectations, flexibility, leave policies, and whether the company genuinely respects boundaries.

šŸ”¹ 7. Location & Commute
A higher-paying job may not be worth it if you’re spending 3–4 hours commuting every day. Consider relocation, hybrid/remote options and overall convenience.

šŸ”¹ 8. Job Stability
Look at the company’s financial health, layoffs, business outlook and stability of the role—especially if the salary difference is significant.

šŸ”¹ 9. Benefits & Perks
Compare health insurance, gratuity, PF, bonuses, ESOPs, paid leaves, parental benefits, wellness benefits and other perks.

šŸ”¹ 10. Career Relevance
Most importantly, ask: ā€œWhich offer takes me closer to where I want to be in the next 3–5 years?ā€

A ₹2–3 lakh difference in CTC may feel attractive today, but the right role, learning, manager, brand and career trajectory can be worth much more in the long run.

Don’t choose the offer with the highest CTC. Choose the offer with the best overall value for your career. šŸš€

ā€œStarting a business isn’t just about having a website. It’s about having the right systems in place.

That’s where Odoo stands out.

With Odoo, you can:

• Build a professional website without coding
• Launch an online store
• Manage customer relationships (CRM)
• Create quotations and invoices
• Track inventory and orders
• Manage projects and appointments
• Run marketing campaigns
• Handle HR, recruitment, and payroll
• Get real-time reports to understand how your business is performing

What I found interesting is that all these modules work together, so you don’t have to keep switching between different platforms as your business grows.

If you’re exploring tools to start or manage a business more efficiently, this is definitely worth checking out.
