We are delighted to share that the Satellite Centre for Research in Contai, jointly developed by the Institute of Astronomy Space and Earth Science (IASES) and Contai Science Academy (CSA), has become a full-fledged research laboratory named "Space Technology & Atmospheric Research Laboratory (STARLαB)." STARLαB conducts Advanced research on radio sounding, satellite remote sensing, solar-terrestrial interaction, space weather, terrestrial lightning, lower atmospheric dynamics, and extreme weather hazards. STARLαB receives extensive research and instrumental support from reputed scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore, Tripura University, Physical Research Laboratory, University of West Attica, Greece, and many more. We encourage students and research-minded people to join us in making this laboratory a research facility in the near future.

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Arghyadeb Roy (BS-MS, IISER), one of our interns, has been selected as a Chalmers Astrophysics & Space Sciences Summer (CASSUM) Research Fellowship. Arghyadeb has been working with the Astrochemistry group in our center, and his fellowship will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden, at Chalmers University this upcoming summer. The CASSUM program will cover his travel and housing expenses with an initial stipend of ~ 3000 Euros, and he will be expected to work on the project full-time for ten weeks. If the project goes well and the results can be presented at a research conference, additional funding will be provided to support his participation in such a conference and a possible follow-on stipend.

We want to congratulate Arghyadeb on his outstanding achievement.

The Institute of Astronomy Space and Earth Science (IASES) welcomes Prof. Dipankar Banerjee, Director, Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) as the Honorable Chairman of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of IASES.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Institute of Astronomy Space and Earth Sciences (IASES), Kolkata, and the Adamas University. This MoU will promote research, faculty and students exchange programs between the two institutes and development of a research laboratory. IASES will be looking forward to a long-term fruitful scientific collaboration and a healthy relationship with this very prestigious university.We are also grateful to the faculty members and staff for their kind co-operation.
