BDMI Reinforces Excellence Again

BDMI’s "Little Masters", celebrated Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday!

Our Pre-primary students engaged themselves in a delightful "I Love Sachin" activity. From listening to inspiring stories of his career to role playing his famous shots , the enthusiasm was infectious. Watching our tiny tots dress up as their favourite sporting hero made for a sweet and unforgettable celebration of a national icon.

The Art Installation Exhibition by the Senior Secondary Painting Department of B.D.M. International was held in the Painting Lab. It was organised as part of the institution’s creative initiative to encourage students to explore artistic expression beyond traditional forms. The exhibition aimed to foster imagination, teamwork and awareness of contemporary art practices among students.

The event was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Ms. Madhumita Sengupta, who emphasised the importance of art in education and encouraged students to think creatively and express their ideas through innovative mediums. The occasion was also graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Nabaneet Maitra, President of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Endeavour for the Rotary Year 2025–2026.

Four houses, with two groups from each house, participated enthusiastically. Over ninety-eight students worked collaboratively to design and create their installations, resulting in eight artistically unique models. Each group selected meaningful themes such as Women’s Safety, Repentance & Metamorphosis of Loss, Labour Exploration and Diversity.

The exhibition primarily featured contemporary art, including both 2D and 3D installations that combined visual expression with conceptual depth. A wide variety of materials was used, including recyclable items, paper, fabric, paint and other everyday objects, highlighting the importance of sustainability and creative reuse. Students also incorporated mixed media techniques using cardboard, newspapers, plastic bottles, discarded fabric, packaging waste, wires, thermocol and natural elements like leaves and twigs to enhance both the structural and visual appeal of their work. The installations were displayed thoughtfully across the venue, creating an engaging and immersive experience for visitors.

The Art Installation Project was a grand success. It not only showcased the artistic talents of the students but also helped them develop confidence, collaboration skills and social awareness. The event proved to be both educational and inspiring for everyone present.

Students from B D M International excelled at the Pragya Hindi Fest, held at DPS Ruby Park. This annual event promotes Hindi language and culture through engaging competitions, including HAMARE Shayak, Saptsindhu, Bhasha Sangam, *Kavya Aavriti and Tark Samvaad.

- Anusha Khandelwal (class X) - Best Speaker Award in Tark Samvaad
- Devansh Shaw (class IV) - 2nd Prize in HAMARE Sahayak
