Since the inception of the Department of Law, University of Calcutta (hereinafter ‘DoLCU’), the institute has been a witness to students with exceptional mettle in respect of academic performances. However, law being a discipline where students are primarily oriented to pursue a professional career after graduation and in keeping up with the changing needs of changing times, campus recruitments have come to be a necessity. In spite of the absence of a formal body, the students have managed to garner opportunities for employment and higher education with their own efforts.
However, DoLCU has so far lacked the existence of a formal body that would facilitate the process of internships mandated by the current CBCS scheme of evaluation, National Education Policy 2021 and the Bar Council of India Rules, as well as employment opportunities for the outgoing batches.
The aim of 'Integrated Internship and Placement Cell' (or, IIPC) would be to secure jobs and internships for the students by providing a hiring platform for firms and companies so as to fix the gap between the industry demands and the talent supply. We wish to collaborate with organisations or individuals with legal expertise to provide us with Internship as well as placement opportunities.
