From 22.6.26 to 24.6.26 IHM Taratala Kolkata successfully conducted a training programme for officials of the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDCL) at the Bohor Tourism Property, Berhampur.

The training sessions were facilitated by Ms. Sohini Basu Mukhopadhyay and Mr. Sunith Mondal, Faculty Members, IHM Taratala Kolkata. The programme focused on strengthening operational competencies, hospitality service standards, guest engagement, and professional best practices essential for delivering exceptional tourism experiences.
Over the course of the three-day programme, participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, practical learning sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities designed to enhance their service capabilities and operational effectiveness.
The programme was graced by the presence of Shri Arghya Ghosh, W.B.C.S. (Exe.), General Manager (Operations), WBTDCL who encouraged the participants to continually enhance their professional skills and uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service excellence.
Through such capacity-building initiatives, IHM Taratala Kolkata continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation by fostering professional excellence and contributing to the development of a highly skilled tourism workforce in the state.

On 10.7.26, Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan addressed the second year students of BSc H&HA as they step into the shoes of senior students at IHM Taratala Kolkata. As a phase of intermediate learning and IET placements begin, they stand at the juncture where they will get exposure to the hospitality industry for the very first time. Mr. Sadhukhan reiterated the importance of having firm resolve towards achieving their goals and equipping themselves with proper knowledge under the guidance of the faculty members of IHM Taratala Kolkata. Faculty members also briefed about the upcoming IET placement season and support that will be extended to all students while Mr. Sadhukhan further emphasised on their roles as responsible seniors, no ragging at any time and building strong networking with industry.

On 11.7.26, Ms Sudipta Saha Gure, HOD IHM Taratala Kolkata was invited to the Shine and Glow 11th National Housekeeping Convention 2026 as an esteemed Panel member.
Representing IHM Taratala Kolkata, Ms. Gure shared the stage with eminent Housekeeping professionals including corporate Housekeepers and Leading members of Academia from Rooms division across the country.

On 4.7.26, IHM Taratala Kolkata was proud to be represented at the Leadership Summit 2026, hosted by International Management Institute (IMI) Kolkata. The summit revolved around the theme “Viksit Bharat @2047: Building a Future-Ready Higher Education and Research Ecosystem.”

Respected Principal, Mr. Raja Sadhukhan, was an invited as an esteemed panelist at the event, which explored the theme “Viksit Bharat @2047: How Talent, Technology & Transformation Will Drive It?” The distinguished panel also featured leading academicians from prominent higher education institutions, including Prof. Tania Chakravertty, Principal, Shri Shikshayatan College; Prof. Dr Ajay Pathak, Senior Director, IBS Kolkata; and Prof. Krishna Murari Agrawal, Director, IISWBM. Further, Prof. Dr. Mohua Banerjee, Director, IMI Kolkata was the Moderator to this discussion.
Mr. Sadhukhan spoke of equal representation of genders in Hospitality and said -"Hospitality is becoming safer and more gender-balanced;
40% of our students are girls and industry norms are moving toward 50%."

With immense pride and gratitude, IHM Taratala Kolkata announces that the institute has been conferred the prestigious ABP Ananda Siksha Ratna Award 2026 on 4th July 2026, a distinguished recognition celebrating excellence and outstanding contributions in the field of education.

This remarkable honour was received by Mr. Raja Sadhukhan, Respected Principal, IHM Taratala Kolkata, from an illustrious panel of dignitaries comprising Prof. Ashutosh Ghosh, Vice Chancellor, University of Calcutta, Prof. Chiranjib Bhattacharjee, Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University, and Padma Shri awardee Ms. Mamata Shankar, the acclaimed actress and eminent dancer.
