On 9.4.26, Bluestone arrived at IHM Taratala Kolkata for their campus placement drive. The panel members included
Mr. Saswata Nag, Assistant Manager HR (West & Central), (Proud alumnus IHM Taratala Kolkata, BSc class of 2022 and MSc class of 2024)
and Ms. Sneha Singh, Lead - L&D. The duo gave a dynamic presentation about the company which the students found to be informative. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan thanked all for their presence.

On 18.3.26, IHM Taratala Kolkata organised the Farewell and Annual Day function for the class of 2023-26. The function had the theme of Netfiesta - The Adventure Begins, depicting new beginnings after the college life. The program saw an array of cultural performances - providing a shining example of talents that the institute nurtures amongst its students. Post this the students enjoyed a sumptuous lunch. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan thanked all for their efforts.

On 15.4.26, IHM Taratala Kolkata ushered in the Bengali New Year, called Noboborsoho, of the Bengali year 1433. The celebration included a sumptuous Bengali themed lunch, with the aptly named Kolkata restaurant being decorated and witness to an array of cultural performances symbolising the new beginnings that Noboborsoho brings with it. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan thanked all for their efforts.

We at IHM Taratala Kolkata are extremely proud to announce that our student Ms. Hifza Baig (class of 2025) received the Gold medal for excellence in academics, ranking 1st all India in pursuit of her BSc in H&HA course from IGNOU. She received the medal at the 39th convocation function of IGNOU - making her the topper and gold medalist amongst all students from all IHMs under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Ms. Baig is currently working as a Hotel Operations Trainee at Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Group of Hotels) - one of the most prestigious hotel brands in the world. The convocation ceremony was graced by the Honourable Vice President of India, Shri. C. P. Radhakrishnan and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri. Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The medal and degree was presented to Ms. Baig by the Honourable Lieutenant Governor himself. This achievement showcases the absolute excellence nurtured amongst the students of IHM Taratala Kolkata along with values like hardwork and perseverance. This combined with the efforts from faculty members of IHM Taratala Kolkata provide the perfect recipe for success. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan congratulated Ms. Baig for her achievement. On 13.4.26, a delegation from Indian Maritime University Kolkata was invited to IHM Taratala Kolkata to showcase their offerings on courses which can facilitate the transformation of Hoteliers to seafarers. These courses will be of use to students who wish to carve out a career in cruiselines and shipping. The delegation consisted of, Respected RAdm Amit Bose (Retd), Campus Director, IMU and Capt. Pronab Raha, Faculty, Master Mariner - NS, IMU Kolkata. The duo gave a detailed presentation and conducted an interactive session with the students who found the session to be very engaging and informative. Furthermore IHM Taratala Kolkata signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IMU Kolkata to facilitate and enable students studying in the discipline of Hospitality Education at IHM Taratala Kolkata to become equipped with the essential skills of a seafarer - skills which will propel them further in the field of Cruise lines. The MoU will enable the cadets of IMU Kolkata to get trained in the trade of Hospitality, service aptitude and skills. This begins a new chapter of collaboration between the two neighbouring institutions. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan thanked the team from IMU Kolkata for their presence.

On 27 March 2026, IHM Taratala, Kolkata, collaborated with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital for a Cancer Awareness Session for students and faculty members. It was led by Dr. Soumita Majumdar, radiation oncologist, who shared valuable knowledge on one of the most critical health concerns of our time. She addressed important aspects, including the signs and patterns of cancer, the significance of early detection, common symptoms, different stages of the disease, as well as methods of diagnosis and treatment. She also emphasised the role of lifestyle modifications in reducing risks and promoting overall well-being. The session concluded with an engaging interactive segment where participants actively asked questions and cleared their doubts. Respected Principal Mr. Raja Sadhukhan thanked all for their presence.

On 17.4.26, Institute of Hotel Management Taratala Kolkata signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Maritime University Kolkata.
