Mrs Hasna Banoo, a retired professor of Lady Brabourne College along with her sisters Miss Akhtari Ahmed and Mrs Mrs Nawshaba Barlaskar retired teachers of Pratt Memorial and Our Lady Queen Of The Missions got together in 2001 and started a school for the underprivileged children at a very nominal fees of Rs 150. The aim of the school was to provide proper education to the children of lesser privi

leged parents at a very nominal cost so that the children could avail quality education at a very low price and not get into unsocial activities which most of the children coming from these type of background . Daffodils now has a strength of 510 students and charges a fees of Rs 350 p.m only. Daffodils is also the only school in India which awards its toppers with 24 carat gold coins.
