A massive shoutout and heartfelt thank you to all the UG and PG students who made our inaugural workshop session on July 23rd, 2026, an unforgettable experience!

Your energy was incredible as we truly stepped "Beyond the Script" to explore, experience, connect, and transform. You didn't just read about theatre; you lived it in action, from your first emotions on the stage to collaborative creation. Seeing you transform from observers to performers was inspiring.

This was just the beginning! 🎬 Our workshop is a series, and this success sets the stage for even deeper exploration. Thanks to Dr. Basu and Ms. Das and Mr. Biswas for the conduction of the sessions. The faculty members participated alongside the students and research scholars.

July witnessed the Student Research Committee presentations of three scholars working under Dr. Monikinkini Basu’s supervision. Dr. Basu is Associate Professor of the Department, her scholars, Ms. Trisha Das, Ms. Sudesha Das and Mr. Rup Biswas made brilliant presentations in presence of the Dean, Professor Subir Dhar, and the Head of the Department, Dr. Priyanka Chakraborty. The other faculty members present were Dr. Madhuchhanda Ray Choudhury and Dr. Archita Banerjee.
Warm regards to the external experts for their active involvement and brilliant research suggestions, Professor Sipra Mukherjee and Professor Sharmistha Chatterjee.

On the 24th of July, 2026, the department witnessed the successful Presubmission seminar of Ms. Sanchita Dutta. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Madhuchhanda Ray Choudhury, Associate Professor, in the department.
The session was witnessed by the Dean, Professor Subir Dhar and Head, Dr. Priyanka Chakraborty.
Other invited members included the Faculty and Research Scholars of the department.

Book Talk | Department of English, Sister Nivedita University

The Department of English, Sister Nivedita University, successfully hosted a Book Talk [Episode 2] on শিবঠাকুরের আপন দেশে by the acclaimed author and academician Professor Siddhartha Biswas today.

The session offered an engaging exploration of the text, as the author shared valuable insights into the inspiration, themes, and creative process behind the book. We extend our sincere gratitude to Professor Biswas for an enriching interaction and thank all the faculty members, students, and attendees for making the event a memorable success.
