Today was the examination day at AJSAC. Srudents tested the length and strength of their learnings of the past 1 year. We were graced by the presence of Artist and educator Sri Biswajit Nath as the external examinerappointed by board. The examination process is completed in due time with constructive feedback from the examiner.

Those who wish to get evaluated on their art skills, connect with us. Various training modules with yearly evaluation are available in our school. Registration going on for all centres in Newtown, VIP road and Khardah

This Sunday is our annual examination of 2025-26 session for all the students across all centres.

A recent work of mine for a client from Kolkata. He wanted his parents' photo to be sketched in a specific manner. The reference was a "random click" according to him, in his house some years back. He didn't want anything to be changed and kept it as it is. His testimonial through WhatsApp chats are attached as well. I am happy to have been a part of his good memories.

সরস্বতী পুজো, ১৪৩২

The auspicious day of paying our respect and humble offering to the goddess of knowledge and merit, Goddess Saraswati. The day is celebrated at AJSAC with students and their parents along with our friends and visitors offering "anjali" (অঞ্জলী) to the deity. The puja ended with relishing prasad and bhog. Our principal and founder Arijit Chakraborty had played the role of purohit to perform the rituals.

I made a drawing using charcoal after a very long time. Those of you who know me well know that I don't prefer this medium as it spreads or to be more precise flies a lot. Reasons being, it creates a mess while working. But the effects that can be created are unique. Apart from photography, I have been seriously teaching art for the last three years and it's fun. The most important thing while you are teaching art is to be clear and well versed with all media. I have not taught the process of drawing with charcoal to anyone in recent times. However, one of my current students is required to be taught for his projects and also to go through the lessons of learning all media in art before specialising in one while he goes to a formal art school. So I decided to bring this back to my regular practice again. Like a jester in the mediaeval royal court, who had to quit sugar to order a person to not eat sugar. He logic was that he needed to feel it for himself before he had to impose that on someone else. So before I teach someone else, I need to bring it in my own practice and repertoire to feel it for myself. In these years, I had lost the feeling.

Another commissioned work for a client who has been trying to get this done for the last 4 years but somehow the right photo, opportunities and outcome wasn't aligning. However, it finally happened. I am so glad that I have done this and he liked it.
