We are happy to share another latest publication in the prestigious RSC journal "Chemical communication".

This work reports a naphthalimide-based colorimetric and luminescent organic sensor was developed for the visual detection and facile quantification of trace amounts of water in organic solvents such as THF, DMSO, and deuterated NMR solvents, using a color chart and smartphone-based application.
Thanks to the University of Calcutta for infrastructural support and the Anusandhan National Research Foundation - ANRF - for funding support.

This work reports a mild, open-air cascade ring-opening polymerization strategy for synthesizing functional poly(disulfide)s. An amine-activated thiolactone generates a thiolate initiator that enables room-temperature polymerization of PFP-ester-containing cyclic disulfides. Subsequent in situ postpolymerization modification allows dual chain-end and pendant functionalization via transesterification and amidation. This versatile platform provides access to multifunctional dynamic covalent poly(disulfide)s with minimal synthetic steps.

Dynamic covalent poly(disulfide)s are regarded as sustainable intelligent materials for the future because of their dynamicity and recyclability. We thank Prof. Biplab Giri (Gour Banga University ), Prof. Subhas Haldar (Bose Institute) and Prof Arunima Sengupta (Jadavpur University) for the collaboration. In this Biomacromolecules paper, we have demonstrated a polyurethane nanonetwork-based robust platform for cocktail chemotherapy. We are very happy to share our another latest publication in prestigious journal " Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part A".

Here, we developed an amine activated cascade initiation of thiolate-induced ring opening polymerization (ROP) of the 1,2-dithiolane ring to synthesize functional poly(disulfide)s at room temperature and under an open-air condition. The poly(disulfide) (PDS) formed stable 100 nm nanocarriers in aqueous media via an entropically driven process, with low CAC and high encapsulation stability. It showed complete redox-triggered (GSH) degradation and ~84% controlled guest release. MTT assays confirmed excellent biocompatibility (>90% HeLa cell viability), while PDS@DOX induced >70% cell death in 24 hours. Fluorescence microscopy revealed time-dependent cellular uptake and doxorubicin diffusion to the nucleus, leading to cancer cell death.
