The city is burning as we speak. From it's very inception, the Jadavpur University Film Society has sought to be a space of resistance. And we believe that now, more than ever, we need to talk of change.
As an act of resistance and awareness, we present a screening of 'No City for Women', a powerful documentary that sheds light on the fears and resilience of women navigating the complexities and dangers of city life. The documentary directed by Dr. Rangan Chakravarty paints a raw and unsettling portrait of what it means to be a woman in urban India today. This film offers a sobering reflection on the urgent need for change.
We will have with us a panel of speakers: Dr. Rangan Chakravarty (Director) , Mr. Arjun Gourisaria (Editor of the film), Dr. Doyeeta Majumder (Professor of English, Jadavpur University) and Dr. Arijeet Mandal (Professor of Film Studies, Jadavpur University)

Jpin us at OPT Hall at 02:30 p.m. for a star-studded event, with the likes of Bitan Islam, Sourav Nayak, Aneesh Basu, Soumajit Ghosh, Rajarshi Das!!
Talking and living all things cinema is probably the best way to conclude the flagship and we invite you to be a part of it.
