Scout Night Hike Organized by Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kolkata District Association.
Kolkata, 1st December 2024: The Bharat Scouts and Guides Kolkata District Association organized an exhilarating Scout Night Hike, bringing together 17 Scouts and three unit leaders from East Calcutta Local Association for a night filled with adventure, learning, and camaraderie. also saw the active participation of Eight ( 8) Scouts from the Pushkarlal Kedia Scout Group.
The hike was expertly led by Shri Sambhu Saha, District Commissioner (Headquarters) as hike leader, with valuable guidance from Shri Shiv Shankar Roy (District Training Counsellor), Shri Kishan Kumar Jha (Rover Scout Leader), Shri Pawan Tiwari (Advanced Scout Master), and Shri Utsab Verma (Cub Master).
The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Shri Anant Krishna Dey, District Commissioner (Scouts). Other notable dignitaries included Shri Rajesh Tiwari, Patron of Pushkarlal Kedia Scout Group, and Shri Gouranga Sarkar, District Secretary. The entire event was efficiently coordinated by Shri Ganesh Singh, District Organizing Commissioner (Scouts).
The night hike received immense support from local contributors:
Sri Ahindranath mishra I.C., Nimtalla Outpost, Kolkata Police, extended warm hospitality by providing biscuit packets and water bottles to all participants.
Shri Vikash Tibrewal, Director of Howrah Modern School, arranged refreshments and tea, ensuring participants remained energized throughout the evening.
The Scouts displayed remarkable self-reliance by preparing their own meals, adding an adventurous edge to the hike. The evening culminated in a lively campfire program, where participants showcased their creativity through performances, fostering team spirit and bonding.
The event emphasized crucial skills such as teamwork, discipline, and outdoor survival, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
The Scout Night Hike was a resounding success, exemplifying the core values of scouting—collaboration, leadership, and skill development. The Kolkata District Association extends heartfelt thanks to all contributors, dignitaries, and participants for their support in making the event a memorable achievement.
