Proud moment for SVIST!
Our Mechanical Engineering students secured the **1st Position among 65 competing projects** at the Technics 2026 at Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and Management. Their innovative project, **INDROVE – A New Version of India’s Municipal and Industrial Pipeline Health System**, demonstrated exceptional technical excellence, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the dedication, teamwork, and innovative mindset nurtured within our institution. Competing against talented peer groups from various reputed institutes, our students brought great honor and recognition to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the entire Svist college I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the team and faculty mentors for this inspiring success and wish them continued success in the future.

It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of Saugata Samanta and Najmul Islam Molla, students of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science & Technology, for their commendable performance in a prestigious inter-college technical competition.
They participated in the *9th Inter College Competition on Prototype Design for Mankind (ICCPDM), organized by the Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, on 10th April 2026.* Competing with participants from various reputed institutions, they presented their innovative project titled “*Hybrid Multi-Tool CNC Engraving Machine*.”
The project showcased a remarkable integration of mechanical design, automation, and practical engineering application. Their innovative approach to combining multiple tools into a single CNC system reflects a deep understanding of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and real-world usability—key aspects of modern technological development.
As officially certified , their dedication, creativity, and technical excellence were recognized with a *5th* position in the competition. This achievement highlights their strong problem-solving abilities, perseverance, and commitment to engineering innovation.

We are pleased to share that the Campus Recruitment Drive with Schneider Electric IT Business India Pvt. Ltd. was successfully conducted on 21st April 2026.
Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management, automation, and digitalization across 100+ countries, offered exciting opportunities for the role of Production Associate at their Bangalore location.
Students from Diploma and B.Tech (ECE, EEE, ME, CSE) actively participated in the recruitment process and explored promising career pathways with a globally reputed organization. We are proud to share that four papers from CSE and AI&DS Department have been selected at the ACMS - International Conference published by Springer. This prestigious conference received submissions from renowned institutions such as IITs, NITs, and universities from Bangladesh, Indonesia, the United States, and many other countries.
A significant number of submissions were made by Ph.D. scholars, professors, and even faculty members from reputed institutions like Jadavpur University. Among all these high-quality contributions, four papers from our college were shortlisted, and one of them has been nominated for the Best Paper Award.
The judging panel included several distinguished experts from abroad, who repeatedly showed keen interest in knowing more about our college. This truly reflects the growing recognition of our institution on an international platform.
Indeed, this is a very proud moment for Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology.

Another Feather to SVIST’s Cap
4 students of Mechanical Engineering Department of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology , Kolkata participated in the 9th Inter College Competition on Prototype Design for Mankind (ICCPDM 2026) . The event took place at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata on 10th April, 2026.
A whopping 120 projects were submitted, among which only 51 made it to the demonstration round.
The Project prepared by the 4 ME students of SVIST acquired 2nd Position and won a cash prize of Rs: 8000/- .
SVIST wishes the ME Department and the 4 emerging engineers the best for their noteworthy team spirit and such a remarkable achievement.

*Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology* celebrated *International Women's Day* with great fervor. March 9 th, 2026 witnessed a vibrant celebration of women empowerment, leadership and entrepreneurship in *SVIST*. The institution recognised and felicitated theYoung Women Achievers among the students of the college in who represented college in prestigious recent events.
The initiative was enjoyed dearly by the students and they participated enthusiastically to celebrate and reaffirm their standpoint as the visionary female leads of tomorrow.
The event reinforced the commitment of the college to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
The event concluded wirh some cultural events by students in presence of Principal madam, all HODs, faculty and technical staffs.

A Moment of Immense Pride for SVIST
Anupama Sarkar and Soumyadip Bhunia , final year students of the Department of Civil Engineering , participated in “High Performance Concrete using Nano-Silica” bagging the Rank no. 1 among the Top 10 projects across West Bengal at the prestigious Dalmia Cement Tech Expert Conclave 2026 (Season 1) .
They demonstrated exceptional dedication, technical understanding and teamwork throughout this project under the supervision of Dr. Tithi Banerjee (HOD, CE). Presenting their research in front of distinguished industry experts in a highly professional environment provided them with invaluable exposure and learning opportunities, ensuring their growing potential in the field of Civil Engineering.
The Department highly appreciates their success which surely adds another feather in the department's cap.
The Department expresses heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nandan Gupta, our Honourable Director and Dr. Sonali Ghosh,our respected Principal for their constant encouragement and support for research and innovation among students. Successfully Completed: One-Day Industrial Visit
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, organized a one-day industrial visit to Tikiapara Coaching Depot (TKPR), Eastern Railway (Howrah Division) on 18th March.
Our B.Tech 3rd & 4th year students gained hands-on exposure to:
🔹 Railway coach maintenance
🔹 Industrial safety practices
🔹 Real-time engineering applications
🔹 Technical depot operations
This visit was a great step towards bridging classroom learning with real-world industrial experience.
