Life, religion and art- all converge in Kumartuli, the potters' abode in North Kolkata. 3rd October turned into a memorable day for the Art students of Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar who visited the narrow lanes of Kumartuli and witnessed the idol makers in the very act of their mesmerising and intricate creation. The smell of the soothing water-soaked clay and the skilled craftsmanship of the idol-makers had indeed cast a magical spell on the students.
