One month since this presentation on "Feminist Ideologies: A Close Reading of Three Indian English Texts" by Dipra Nath, Riyam Patra and Supragati Roy, students of the fourth semester of our Department, in an interdisciplinary seminar on the theme of "Feminisms" that we organised jointly with the Department of Political Science ~

Semester VI students of the Department of English presented a paper on Metaphysics in African Literature with a special focus on Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart at an interdisciplinary students' seminar organised by the department jointly with the Department of Philosophy on the theme of "Metaphysics in Life and Literature." This seminar was held in an online mode on 9 May 2024, 5.00 p.m. onwards.

Semester VI students of our department presented a paper titled "Memories, Margins, and Mourning: Reading Pablo Neruda's Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines" at an interdisciplinary students' seminar organised by the department, jointly with the Departments of Hindi and Statistics, on the theme of "Literature, Science and Society." This seminar was held in an online mode on 9 May 2024, 7.00 p.m. onwards.

Semester II students of our department presented a paper on "Keats and the World of Art" at an interdisciplinary students' seminar that the department organised jointly with the Department of History on the theme of "Literary Histories." Students from the History Department presented two papers on "Baburnama" and "Arthashastra."

On the final day of Eshana 2024, our annual intra-college cultural competition, in which the students of our Department participated wholeheartedly and fiercely.
Dr Somrita Urni Ganguly and Dr Naina Dey, faculty members of this Department, were judges for the debate and painting competition, respectively, on the last day of this three day cultural festival.
