Technology has brought colossal of transformation in human lives with coding being one of the gifts of this change. Learning to code has brought an undeniable change in the modern education system: making it an increasingly core part of it.
Experts believe that learning coding is equally important for early learners. As per the LinkedInโs Emerging Jobs Report, during the last decade the role of coding experts: Data scientists have upsurged by 650% and the demand for coding is said to grow by 37% year over year.
Chinese parents know the power of coding and are doing well on teaching their children how to code with many of them are made to learn to code even before they enter pre-school.
For them, teaching their children to code has become equally important like teaching Chinese and Mathematics. Singapore is a country which launched โCoding for Funโ as an optional enrichment class for primary and secondary students in 2014.
US, China have 3-4 times more engineers than India who know how to code. However, the proportion of engineers who cannot write compliable code in India is almost three times the Chinese engineers who cannot do so, according to the report.
In the future, however, 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, an ability to collaborate, and to communicate well will grow multifold in importance.
Problem-solving is nothing but an ability to use oneโs creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills to find the most optimised solution to a problem at hand.
