My understanding of International Disability Day

Disability is not only physical. It can also be mental, emotional, behavioural, or learning related. Every child is unique, and every child deserves to belong.

A child who is very active or a “trouble-maker” should not be excluded.
A child who is very quiet and sits alone in the corner should not be ignored.
No one should be left out because they are different.

We must make maximum effort to bring everyone together.
When we include, we grow. When we accept, we learn. When we support, we build confidence.

Inclusion is my motto.
Bringing everyone together is my mission.

Teachers as Superhumans 👻 Teaching Today... Beyond the Classroom 😂🤔🥸

Teaching is no longer just about teaching children in school. It has slowly graduated to teaching parents too!

We now find ourselves guiding them on —
🍎 What’s healthy for their child,
✂️ When it’s time for a haircut or grooming. Whether the kid love two braids or gel hair
🍱 What to pack for tiffin,
👀 And even sharing observations like what their little one enjoys from a friend’s lunchbox!

We inform parents when
👗 The uniform needs an upgrade, and why undepants or leggings are compulsory.😨
🧥 A vest or warmer is needed because the classroom gets cold and temperature is centrally maintained.
😷 The child has a cold or cough and needs a mask (and maybe a little Vicks VapoRub tucked in the bag!),
Nails need trimming,
🪥 Or it’s time to visit a dentist for some oral hygiene care!
That the child is no more timid or an introvert which they think 💭 🤔 he or she portrays at home.

And of course, we remind them
📜 A circular has been sent for reading purpose and for your informationonly ℹ️
💬 They can check back messages to clear their doubts,..... And that a teacher too has personal time after school ... a family, a social circle, commitments, ailments and yes… stress! 😥🥹😭🤠🤧😷
That their innocent doe has another vocabulary bank for his or her classmates full of slangs. lol 😆
That The stories they narrate at home are half reality and the other half is their imagination 🤣
That they can cross check ✅ information from friends and managebac for clarification.🤓

Because at the end of the day, we are all human teaching, caring, loving, learning, and sometimes… just trying to breathe. 😅🧐🥹🙏🏻🤓🥳🎯
