We are looking to hire couple of engineers (5-8 years exp) at Yokogawa Bengaluru (INDIA) Global Division to serve Middle East and Africa Geography - experienced in proposal engineering for power generation ( fossil) , water ( seawater desalination, potable water transportation, storage, sewage treatment) , renewable energy ( PV, BESS,Microgrid etc..) industries with exposure to DCS, SCADA, PLC, Field Instrumentation. How does Applied Electronics and Instrumentation programme compare with other branches of Engineering?

At present, large scale on campus placements take place in the IT sector, but the best recruitments in the core domains take place in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The opportunities in PSUs are on a smaller scale but with much higher remuneration.

The scope in core engineering domains can be assessed by the statistics on annual recruitment in PSUs in a particular branch compared against the number of candidates graduating per year in that particular branch.

The following table provides a sample calculation for assessing the scope of Instrumentation in the core domain, with respect to a notification from a public sector unit in 2021 and the number of students appearing for GATE (which can represent the volume of candidates from a branch in a particular year).
