Four Types of Parenting

There are four types of parenting in my observation. All these types are included in our personality. But one type will be dominating the others. That domination determines our style of parenting. Let's find which type you belong to?

1, Helicopter Parent.
A helicopter parent moves in the air of anxiety about the child. Always observes performances of the child from above with a lot of questions and anticipations of danger. They are the tension people. They hold and give tension to their child to ensure the right path. Anxiety is the part and parcel of their trait. They are restless and irritated when an error is noticed in their child. They design the future and decisions for the child thinking that they know what is better for the child more than anyone else, even the child himself.

2, Commander Parent:
Commander parent is a person of giving orders without understanding the situation of child. He gives commands or orders to make everything right. But he doesn't want to know the pragmatic and empathetic dimensions of the issues. He likes intimidation instead of intimacy with the child. Child is fearful of this parent. At the same time this parent likes to keep that fear and intimidation through out his life thinking that fear factor is the major element of his parenting to be effective.

3, ATM Parent:
Any Time Money parent means providing all possible facilities that desired by the child without much questions or critical evaluation. They fear the child for his reactive behaviour. They stand at the side of their child when others criticise without considering the objective points they arised. They believe in their child blindly. They try to satisfy the child with pleasures and facilities and child feels very easy to fulfill his demands which may not propotional to their age and situation.

4, Candle Parent:
Candle parents always shed light of insights on the way of their children through their words and witness just like a candle. They don't force their children to follow their insights, but recognize freedom to accept or reject. They have life witness of love and wisdom. They say what they live. Child grows by modelling this parents. These parents are serene and firm in their parenting behaviour. Candle parenting can be considered as an ideal parenting.
