Startups can raise USD 3 million via ECBs annually: RBI Reserve Bank of India (RBI) permitted startups to raise external commercial borrowings (ECBs) of up to USD 3 million in a financial year. Under this, Funds can be raised with a minimum maturity of 3 years. The move is aimed at boosting innovation and promoting job creation. The RBI said while issuing norms for ECB route for startups that the borrowing should be denominated in any freely convertible currency or in Indian Rupees (INR) or a combination thereof.

India, New Zealand sign three pacts including avoidance of double taxation India and New Zealand on 26 October 2016 signed three agreements in the areas of double taxation avoidance, food security and sports. The agreements were inked in New Delhi in presence of New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. John Key was on a three-day (25 October to 27 October 2016) visit to India.

Union Government to establish Krishi Vigyan Kendra in each district Union Government in October 2016 decided to establish at least one Krishi Vigyan Kendra in each of the districts in country. These Kendra’s will be developed to provide technical assistance to farmers. The decision was announced by the Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh while interacting via video conference with all the Krishi Vigyan Kendra experts, district level officers associated with agriculture development and progressive farmers of 12 States.
