Islam is a monotheistic religion expressed by the use of the Qur'an. Islamists submit to God and to Muhammad as the leader and last prophet of God.

4) salvation through serving God.

Islam in Arabic means submission and is derived from a word meaning peace.
As a religion Islam means submission to God's will.
What makes it different from other religions is the fact that Muslims have religion uppermost in their minds and make no distinction between the secular and the sacred.

Islam was founded by Muhammad around 622 CE.
IT is said the angel Gabriel visited Muhammad over a course of 23 years to reveal the revelations of Islamic faith to him.
