Inside Prakasham: A Narrated Journey 🎨
Prakasham, our annual art exhibition celebrating the creativity, curiosity, and artistic explorations of our students, was successfully held on 23rd March 2026 in the esteemed presence of our Chief Guest, Mrs. Shradha Pandey (Educator, Author, and Storyteller).
The word Prakasham, meaning “light,” symbolises the illumination that art brings to our understanding of the world and one another. This year’s theme, ‘Garden of Shared Strokes – Cultures in Bloom’, came alive as an immersive garden journey. Visitors moved through thoughtfully curated “stops,” each showcasing artistic expressions inspired by cultures from around the globe.
The experience is further enriched through a guided walkthrough of Prakasham, narrated by Ms. Sarah Ittyerah, Head of Visual Arts, offering deeper insights into the ideas, inspirations, and stories behind the exhibition.

Graduation in Blue - Congratulations class of 2026: you did it!
Anticipation was high as our Grade 12 students shimmered in the royal blue gowns of their own design on the afternoon of Wednesday 11th March. Following a formal procession in and a touching address made by the grade 12 parent rep, Ms. Deepthi, poignant speeches were made by the teachers of all 30 of our graduating students, prompting laughter, as well as tears, in students and parents alike. Six students had also volunteered to speak, two of whom had been at GMAK for 9 years - it was deeply moving to hear about their journey and memories. The evening concluded with the customary tossing the cap followed by a high tea.
Class of 2026 - you have been phenomenal and we will never forget you! Keep in touch and all the best for your future endeavours!

In 1959, two passionate teachers from Kerala took a bold step into the unknown.
Late Madam Mariamma Varkey, along with her husband KS Varkey, moved to the UAE with a vision - to make quality education accessible to all.
From these humble beginnings emerged GEMS Education.
Today, we remember not just a pioneer, but a humanitarian who believed deeply in empowering girls, uplifting teachers, and transforming society through education. Her legacy continues to inspire generations. As the beloved mother of our Founder and Chairman, Sunny Varkey, her unwavering belief in the power of education remains at the heart of everything we do.
*Prakasham: The 3rd Spark*
Prakasham, our annual Art Exhibition celebrating the creativity, curiosity, and artistic explorations of our students, was successfully held on 23rd March 2026, in the esteemed presence of our Chief Guest, Mrs. Shradha Pandey (Educator, Author, Storyteller).
Prakasham, meaning light, symbolises the illumination that art brings to our understanding of the world and one another. This year’s theme, _‘Garden of Shared Strokes – Cultures in Bloom’_, was thoughtfully brought to life as an immersive garden journey, where visitors moved through different “stops,” each exploring artistic expressions from cultures across the globe.
At the heart of this journey was India, serving as both the starting point and the lens for exploration. At every stop in the garden, aspects of Indian art, culture, and visual traditions were presented alongside corresponding examples from other parts of the world. Through this meaningful comparison and contrast, the exhibition invited viewers to appreciate both the beautiful differences and the striking similarities across cultures.
While styles, materials, and traditions varied from place to place, the exhibition revealed a powerful idea—that human stories, emotions, and creative expressions often echo one another across continents. The garden became a vibrant space where diverse artistic voices met, reminding us that art transcends boundaries and connects us all.
