Decoding ECG Basics: aVR, aVL, aVF 🫀📊
The augmented limb leads are often skipped, but they’re critical for reading axis, spotting inferior MIs, and getting the full 360° view of the heart.
*Quick memory aid: "Right - Left - Feet"*
aVR → Right shoulder → Usually negative (-150°)
aVL → Left shoulder → Small positive (-30°)
aVF → Feet → Positive (+90°)
Together with I, II, III they complete the frontal plane. Master the leads, own the ECG.
*Clinical pearl:* ST elevation in II, III, aVF with ST depression in aVR = Think inferior wall MI
