Immigration New Zealand has announced a 3 month suspension of offshore temporary visa applications from the 10th of August 2020. What this means is that you will not be able to submit a temporary visa application if you are outside of New Zealand.

There are some exemptions to this rule:

> Partners of New Zealand residents or citizens

> Recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) Limited Visas

> Visas for diplomatic, consular and official staff, and their accompanying dependents

> Antarctic Traveller Visitor Visas and Antarctic Work Visa

Since the border closure, offshore applications were not being prioritized/processed, given the entry restrictions. This suspension simply prevents new applications from being lodged to avoid Immigration New Zealand having to deal with a large number of applications when processing does resume.
