Global Climate Economy is likely to hit One Trillion Dollars in 2025-26. This means the climate economy is going to be the 18th largest economic power force in the world which is much higher than many developed nations such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, and Norway, and developing countries like Argentina, Turkey, Malaysia, and so on. The flow of climate finance is an interesting thing to watch in the coming years.

CARBON NEUTRAL WAYANAD - Happy to be part of the official release of the report on Carbon Neutral Wayanad. Prof. N. H. Ravindranath from the Indian Institute of Science unveiled the report in the presence of Mr. Samshad Marikkar, President, Wayanad District Panchayath), Dr. Renu Raj IAS, District Collector, Wayanad, Dr. C. Jayakumar, Director, Thanal, Dr. Dr. S Abhilash, Director of the Radar Research Centre at CUSAT, Dr. C K Vishnudas, Director of the Hume Centre for Ecology and Wildlife Biology and other dignitaries. It looks like Wayanad is the first district in India to come up with such a report.

Centre for Climate Resilience and Environment Management (CCREM) at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies invite applications for the following positions:
1. Senior Research Fellow: Qualifications - MSc Environmental Sciences/Remote Sensing and GIS/Climate Science/Disaster Management/Climate Change Adaptation. Two years of work experience with satellite remote sensing, climate data analysis, and GIS modelling; Consolidated pay per month - Rs. 22,000/.
2. Technical Assistant: Qualifications - MSc Environmental Sciences/Remote Sensing and GIS/Climate Science/Disaster Management/Climate Change Adaptation. Experience in field data collection, stakeholder consultations, remote sensing, and climate data analytics shall be preferred. Consolidated pay per month - Rs. 16,000/.
The period of appointment is for one year which is likely to be extended based on the performance of the candidates. Freshers are also encouraged to apply but shall be treated as JRF in absence of two years of experience. Applications shall be submitted in the prescribed format before 30th July, 2022.
