*3-Day Awareness Programme Begins in Kishtwar; Over 350 Students Participate*
Kishtwar, April 08, 2026: A three-day Awareness Programme organized by the Directorate of School Education Jammu (Division Jammu), including District Kishtwar, commenced and was virtually inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
At the district level, the programme is being managed by Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, Sh. Sanjay Dogra, and is being held at the Auditorium of Government Degree College Kishtwar. The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Additional District Development Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer, Principal Degree College Kishtwar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), ARTO, Dy. SP Headquarters, BMO, DTI and other Officer /Officials from allied departments.
Over 350 students participated in the programme, while schools across the district joined virtually, ensuring wide outreach. During the event, ARTO Kishtwar distributed awareness pamphlets among students focusing on road safety measures.
The Deputy Commissioner and CEO Kishtwar also interacted virtually with the Hon’ble Minister of the School Education Department. It was assured that key initiatives such as mental health awareness, drug de-addiction, road safety, environmental protection, social awareness, and academic & career guidance will be implemented across the district in mission mode.
The district administration further committed to achieving the *“One Student, One Plant”* initiative within 10 days across all schools.
The programme aims to sensitize students and the community on important social issues and promote responsible citizenship. CEO Kishtwar further assured that the remaining two days of the programme, scheduled to be held at District Headquarters and cluster levels, will be conducted smoothly and successfully.
