OBSERVANCE OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
AT HSS BOYS KISHTWAR
World Environment Day was observed with great enthusiasm at Govt. Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar under the overall guidance and supervision of worthy Principal HSS Boys Kishtwar, Sh. Ashok Kumar Ji, in collaboration with the District Legal Cell of HSS Boys Kishtwar.
The programme was organized with the objective of spreading awareness among students regarding environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, and the importance of maintaining ecological balance. World Environment Day is celebrated across the globe every year on 5th June to encourage people to take positive environmental action and to create awareness about pressing environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, climate change, and loss of biodiversity.
On the occasion, a painting competition was organized in which students enthusiastically participated and expressed their ideas and concerns regarding environmental conservation through colourful and meaningful paintings. The students highlighted themes such as “Save Earth”, “Go Green”, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, and “Plant More Trees”.
A plantation drive was also conducted within the school premises wherein students and staff members planted saplings and pledged to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. The activity aimed at promoting greenery and instilling a sense of responsibility among students towards nature and sustainable living.
The worthy Principal Sh. Ashok Kumar Ji appreciated the efforts of the students and staff and emphasized the need for collective responsibility in protecting the environment. The programme concluded successfully with a message of environmental awareness and commitment towards a cleaner and greener future.

An IEC activity on “Yoga for Body, Mind & Soul” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was organized by Peace House at HSS Boys Kishtwar under the guidance and supervision of worthy Principal Sh. Ashok Kumar Ji.
The programme aimed at spreading awareness among students about the importance of yoga for maintaining physical fitness, mental peace and spiritual well-being. During the activity, various yoga poses were also demonstrated and students actively participated with great enthusiasm. The speakers highlighted that regular practice of yoga helps in reducing stress, improving concentration and keeping youth away from drug abuse and other harmful addictions.
