Dysmenorrhea Awareness Campaign Organized at Devsthali Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Rudrapur
Devsthali Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Lalpur, Rudrapur, in collaboration with Blue Cross Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., organized a Dysmenorrhea Awareness Campaign for students. The campaign aimed to create awareness about menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea), its causes, symptoms, common myths and misconceptions, and appropriate management.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Sweta Joshi, Associate Professor, College of Pharmacy. Mr. Rajat Agrawal, Regional Manager, and Mr. Shubham Sharma, Territory Manager, from Blue Cross Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. attended the programme as resource persons. They provided students with valuable information on dysmenorrhea and emphasized that severe menstrual pain should not be ignored or considered normal, and that medical consultation should be sought when required.
An educational video based on the guidance of Dr. Shrutika Thakkar, Gynaecologist, was also screened during the programme. The video covered the causes and symptoms of dysmenorrhea, common myths and misconceptions, and appropriate management approaches.
At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Himanshu Joshi, Director, Devsthali Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, addressed the students and emphasized that the objective of the campaign was not limited to educating students but also to spreading awareness throughout society. He encouraged students to share accurate information about dysmenorrhea and menstrual health with women and girls in their families and communities, helping them seek appropriate medical guidance when needed.
The awareness campaign proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the students. It enhanced their understanding and sensitivity towards women's health and menstrual health issues while encouraging them to contribute to health awareness in society.
