Hearty congratulations to Research Scholar Salimah Hasnah from our City Future Lab(http://www.arp.iitkgp.ac.in/cfl/) for winning the Best Young Researcher Award for presenting the paper "Factors influencing MaaS uptake in the context of developing countries based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) framework" at the 7th Conference on Sustainable Mobility at Plastira Lake Greece.
The paper contextualizes the UTAUT2 model for studying (Mobility as a Service(MaaS) adoption intention and identifies potential influencing factors affecting MaaS adoption intention in the Indian context.

City Future Lab (www.arp.iitkgp.ac.in/cfl) is proud to launch PUBBS(www.pubbs.in) pilot-scale demonstration at IIT Kharagpur. We are happy to be blessed by Shri (Dr.) Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, Govt. of India, our Director, Prof. V. K. Tiwari, our Deputy Director, Prof. Amit Patra, our Dean R&D Prof. Rintu Banerjee and many other eminent guests and dignitaries who took the time to inaugurate our “Make in India” bicycle sharing hardware and software system.

PUBBS is a fourth generation cloud-based Public Bicycle Sharing system to be made freely available on a subscription basis so that the system can be setup by private individuals without specialized equipment and personnel. Multiple variants of the product are created; Bluetooth based, GSM-GPS based, Semi-automatic and Fully-automatic. This product will enhance last mile connectivity, reduce travel time and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Roughly a year and half back we were one of the top 5 finalist of the Better e-bus challenge 2022 (World’s first accelerator program for e-buses) organized by WRI India, supported by the TUMI e-bus Mission for our product PUBBS Transit. Our product was still not complete and we did not win that time but definitely enjoyed giving the pitch and interacting with bus operators.

Wonderful news on the eve of the Christmas holidays.

Ms. Shreyasi Neogi of the Master of City Planning Batch 2023 has been awarded the 2nd prize for National Best Thesis Award 2023 for post graduate planning students. Her research topic is "Impact of Metro Transit on Real Estate Property Prices: A case of Kolkata" using advanced time series model for predicting the real estate property prices while considering market dynamics. The award is given every year by the Institute of Town Planners India.
