We are delighted to announce that Prof. Vivek Wadhwa, CEO of Vionix Biosciences, has been appointed as Adjunct Professor at Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship, IIT Kharagpur.

Prof. Wadhwa is a globally recognized academic, entrepreneur, and author of acclaimed books including The Immigrant Exodus, Innovating Women, Your Happiness Was Hacked, The Driver in the Driverless Car, and From Incremental to Exponential: How Large Companies Can See the Future and Rethink Innovation.

He has previously served as Distinguished Fellow at Harvard Law School , Carnegie Mellon School of Engineering , and Emory University, and as Fellow at Stanford Law and UC Berkeley.

Rooted in innovation at IIT Kharagpur, NSMโ€™s technology was developed through a collaboration between the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and the Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSOEE).

The venture, initiated by Ph.D. students of RMSoEE and Department of Metallurgy and Materials, exemplifies the power of translating IIT Kharagpur's research into impactful entrepreneurship. Naveen Karri, a PhD scholar at RMSoEE, under the mentorship of Dr. Manoj Kumar Mondal, and with the technical leadership of Dr. Chenna Rao Borra and Mr. saida shaik, NSM secured the ๐—š๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—”๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ž๐—ฃ๐—œ๐—ง ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ and went on to raise seed funding for commercial scale-up.

In our first studentโ€“faculty interaction under the new leadership, we reflected on the positive changes implemented and the key issues addressed within the school.

Discussions highlighted student-led startup initiatives for campus cleanliness and innovative approaches to enhancing Research Scholarsโ€™ coursework.

The session also marked the introduction of the "๐’๐„๐„ ๐†๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง" Initiative, a collective step towards a more sustainable and mindful atmosphere in the school. ๐ŸŒฑ

This initiative emphasizes creating an addiction-free environment in line with the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan" of Govt of India, also encouraging digital detox, ensuring a plastic-free campus, and promoting plantation within the department premises.

A special keynote address by Richa Malviya on microplastics, nanoplastics, plastic eradication action plan and monitoring and proposed switching to healthy as well as sustainable options.

The session concluded with the announcement of new support teams to drive upcoming departmental initiatives.
