Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha Launches Dr. Suraj Gupte’s Pediatric Education Network Portal

In a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing Pediatric healthcare education across India and beyond, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha, today formally launched the Pediatric Education Network, a free-to-access digital platform curated and developed by eminent pediatrician & academician, Dr Suraj Gupte.
The inauguration ceremony, held on 15th of April 2025 at VC Hall of Raj Bhawan Jammu, witnessed the presence of leading healthcare professionals and dignitaries from across the Union territory. The state-of-the-art digital portal would be a revolutionary stride in bridging knowledge gaps and empowering practitioners of pediatrics with credible, up-to-date resources. This initiative, a transformative leap in digital medical education, aligns with the vision of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Pediatric Education Network is a comprehensive, user-friendly online portal designed to serve as a centralized hub for the knowledge of child health. It features a wealth of resources including lectures, clinical guidelines, case studies, interactive modules, and expert insights— a ‘free to access’ feature for all medical professionals, students, and institutions.
Dr Suraj Gupte who is currently the Principal Advisor, Children’s Health Institutes & also the Chairperson of the Pediatric Education Network Foundation hails from Jammu and occupies a pride of place for outstanding contribution as a Pediatric educationist and researcher. Being the Chief Editor & Author of prestigious “Recent Advances Series” & “The Short textbook of Pediatrics”, he is recipient of numerous national and international awards and visiting fellowships.
Dr. Gupte expressed his gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor and emphasized the need for dynamic, accessible, and updated educational tools in today’s rapidly evolving medical landscape. “With the launch of this portal, we are bridging geographical and academic gaps in Pediatric education. The Pediatric Education Network will serve as a knowledge lighthouse for thousands of young doctors in the field of pediatrics, both in India and abroad,” he stated.
In future, the portal will feature academic contributions from some of the most distinguished names in pediatric medicine, and will host webinars, training modules, examination prep materials, and patient-care guidelines tailored for diverse healthcare settings.
Interacting with the press, Dr Suraj Gupte expressed his gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor and dignitaries present at the occasion.

The event was attended by several academicians & prominent citizens including Dr Sanjeev K Digra -Head of Department Pediatrics, GMC Jammu, Former Professors & Senior Pediatricians- Dr Ashok Gupta, Dr Ghanshyam Saini, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr Kewal Samnotra & Ex-Medical Superintendent Dr Gotam Goel. Rakesh Gupta- Former President Chamber of Commerce presented introductory note about the web-portal. Also present were Subhash Gupte, Shamma Bakshi, Rajendra Gupte & Robin Bakshi.
