the initiative of Rev. Lawrence Pinto, the then Priest-in-Charge of Mother Teresa Ashram, Dak Bangla. As he was working among the poor Santhals, a tribe in Katwa, he had an urge to work for their cause. He felt, by providing quality education he could uplift them. Hence he worked tirelessly to begin a school mainly catering to the needs of Santhals. Initially Kindergarten was introduced in a rented place at B.I.T [Bengal Institute of Technology] College premises with the help of College Principal and some local dignitaries. Later in the year 2007 the school was shifted to newly constructed building which presently has grown up to class eight. The initial construction was carried out with the kind donations received from the Austrian friends of Fr. Lawrence Pinto, local donors and the assistance from the Catholic Diocese of Asansol. The institution has the vision to bloom in to Higher Secondary School in the coming years
