AISECT को राष्ट्रीय कौशल विकास निगम (NSDC) और Microsoft* द्वारा ग्रामीण भारत में *महिला सशक्तिकरण* के उद्देश्य से विशेष रूप से महिला लाभार्थियों के लिए एक रोजगार उन्मुख कौशल विकास प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम चलाने के लिए सौंपा गया है। यह परियोजना माइक्रोसॉफ्ट की सीएसआर गतिविधि का एक हिस्सा है और उन्होंने भारत को डिजिटल रूप से सशक्त राष्ट्र में बदलने के लिए एनएसडीसी के साथ सहयोग किया है।

Vocational training needs to be made aspirational to transform India into the skill capital of the world. In line with the same, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship ( MSDE ) intends to establish visible and aspirational Model Training Centres ( MTCs ) in every district of the country. NSDC is the implementation agency for the project.

The model training centres envisage to:

Create benchmark institutions that demonstrate aspirational value for competency-based skill development training.
Focus on elements of quality, sustainability and Connection with stakeholders in skills delivery process.
Transform from a Mandate-driven footloose model to a sustainable institutional model.
These training centres will be state-of-the-art Model Training Centres, called as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK ).
