A proud moment for the MMCOE family as Dr. Vijay W. Bhatkar and Mr. Mukund S. Ranade from the Department of Mechanical Engineering receive a prestigious research grant of â‚ą40.51 Lakhs from the Foundation of ISHRAE Research, Science & Technology (FIRST).

đźš© Learning from the Vari, Innovating for the Vari | VARITHON 2026

As a part of VARITHON 2026 , the “Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Marathwada Mitramandal’s College of Engineering (MMCOE ), Pune, organized a field activity during the Palkhi Sohala.

The objective was to help students understand the real-world challenges associated with the Vari. Students actively interacted with Warkaris, volunteers, and other stakeholders to gain first-hand insights into the difficulties faced during the pilgrimage. These interactions will help participants identify meaningful problem statements and develop innovative technology-driven solutions as part of VARITHON 2026.

As a part of this initiative and in keeping with the spirit of social responsibility, students also participated in traffic management, supporting the authorities in ensuring the smooth movement of devotees and vehicles.

The event was witnessed by *Principal Dr. S. R. Sakhare, Vice Principal Ms. S. N. Deshmukh, HoD E&TC- Dr. A. S. Bhatlawande* , along with the faculty coordinators, appreciated the students’ active participation and commitment.

VARITHON 2026 is more than a hackathon—it is an opportunity to observe, understand, and innovate for one of Maharashtra’s most cherished traditions by transforming real-life challenges into impactful technological solutions.
